In the 1930s Fred Bourguignon was a lyricist above all. He continued with his small masterpieces of poetry that were published in hand-printed editions until his death. However, his artistic focus was on painting making a great visual impact with its sensitivity and powerful colours on paper, canvas and reverse glass paintings. Works by Fred Bourguignon can be found in various collections all over the world. He had solo shows in France (particularly since the 1960s), in the USA (in the 1990s) and in Germany (since 2001).
