Christine Rettinger

rettingerBorn in Murnau/Upper Bavaria, grown-up in Murnau, Munich and Switzerland.

Since the early 1960s Christine Rettinger has been focusing on 19th and 20th-century art, particularly on the Munich and Dusseldorf Art Schools as well as Post-Impressionism.

Several study trips led her to Africa, America, Asia and to most Western European countries.

By the end of the 1960s, Christine Rettinger started to deal with art at wholesale and retail. In the mid 1970s her first gallery opened on the island Sylt in Northern Germany.

By the end of the 1970s, the second gallery opened in Haimhausen Palace near Munich. From there, she moved to the Munich „Antik Haus“ in 1985, and one year later, she was lucky to become the owner of the renowned GALERIE WIMMER in the city centre.

Art works that have once been exhibited in this gallery can now be found in major museums and private collections such as
