In terms of style and mode of presentation, landscape painter Fritz Bamberger is indebted to Carl Rottmann particularly in his late work, thereby transferring Rottmann’s interpretation of Greek landscapes to Spanish sceneries. Like him, Bamberger puts emphasis on coloristic effects caused by atmospheric changes. However opposing to the pictorial space Rottmann achieves through different layers, Bamberger is closer related to Christian Morgenstern in his search for a homogenous tone.
