Christine Herr-Tropp
born 1963 in Limburg/Lahn (Germany)
The portrayed girl throws the beholder of the artwork a strong and self-confident gaze. The left arm on her hips and knees straightened, the girl’s posture seems firm and determined. The little one’s green eyes sparkle. Her dark hair frames the face and lies softly on her shoulders. The focus lies on the girl. Her face, in particular, stands out against the lightly coloured background, all of that underlining her facial expression. A powerful portrait unfolds that enchants the beholder right away.
Christine Herr-Tropp was born in 1963 in Limburg at the Lahn. After an apprenticeship in visual communication and merchandising, she began to work as a freelancer in her own company in 1991. Between 2001 and 2006 she was trained as a portrait artist by the renowned, New York based artist and curator Thomas S. Buechner and works as an artist since 2004. Her atmospheric portraits of children are clearly influenced by Buechner’s art and technique. However, Christine Herr-Tropp mostly engages in displaying the whole body and finds her own way to show the children’s personalities through the simple design. She has been featured in many, even international, expositions, already.
